Level three details the roles, outputs, inputs and the steps needed to complete a specific process in an operation area. An example includes the purchasing of capital equipment that would need to cross several operations areas. They are usually easy and quick to draw but may not provide the detail required to build understanding. They are also called high-level process maps. Level two shows end to end processes across the level one operation areas. Examples include administrative processes and customer processes. Level one details the operational levels of an organization. This is will be either a value chain model or a high level business model diagram. This level is the highest level and it the most abstract. Level ZeroĪlthough Level Zero is listed it almost falls outside this structure.
